Certified Therapist

For clinicians looking to certify in Lifespan Integration, the process is as follows:

  1. Complete Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 of LI trainings

  2. Do their own personal LI therapy with a certified therapist

  3. Work with a primary consultant who is a current LI trainer

  4. Work with a secondary consultant who has experience in the clinician’s area of specialty or expertise

Once you have reached out to a certified therapist and consultant(s) and have established a relationship for working with them, please fill out the Application for Designation as a Certified Therapist form: https://lifespanintegration.com/application-for-designation-as-a-certified-li-therapist/

You do not need to have all levels of training completed prior to starting your personal LI therapy or work with consultants.

Candidates for certification will have completed the following:

  1. All four levels of training and any updates as required

  2. Regular consultation during the process of certification with 2 or more approved LI consultants, one of which is a primary consultant who is also a trainer. Usually 10 sessions of individual and/or group consultation per year is required, and a combination of individual and group is best.

  3. Candidate has done their own personal LI therapy with a certified therapist. There is no exact requirement for how many sessions to do, although therapist should experience all protocols and be brought through all three stages of therapy.

  4. The candidate is using LI with their clients for a minimum of 1 year after taking their level 4 training, and should be using LI with at least 5 clients per week.

  5. The candidate will have worked with at least 2 clients to take them through all 3 Stages of LI and should demonstrate an understanding and ability to use all LI protocols in practice.

Once the above criteria has been met, you will meet with your primary consultant to complete a certification test.

Renewal of Certification

Certified LI clinicians must renew certification every 2 years. The first renewal cycle will be September 30th, 2024, and then every two years after that on September 30th.

Per year (October-September):

  • Participate in at least 3 individual and/or group consultations with a current LI Instructor.

  • Receive any updates regarding any changes to LI.

  • Maintain the use of LI with a minimum of 5 clients per week.

NOTE: Lifespan Integration Administration in the US reserves the right to require more than the minimum recertification requirements, including repeating a Level of LI training, if the LI certified clinician needs additional information in order to be updated on current LI theory and practice.
